It seems you are inviting, in a fashion, legitimate peripheral participation.  And posing the question of what counts as &quot;illegitimate&quot; peripheral participation.  I&#039;ve never really thought about that too much (and not sure Lave and Wenger focused much there either.) No answers, but up for the exploration!</description>
